9 Must-Have Features On Your Telegram App
Telegram mini-apps are absolutely killing it. 800 million monthly active users. 300 different apps.
But you probably already know this, you’re ahead of the curve.
You’re already building or have already built your TG mini-app.
But, are you doing it the right way? What good does it do if you build it without the essential functionality that keep users engaged and active.
Here are the 9 MUST-HAVE features for your telegram:
- Tasks Dashboard
Reward users for being active and helping your project + mini-app grow. Allow them to complete tasks that can be social (following, liking, commenting on twitter) or non-social (downloading X, completing the onboarding tour, getting more than 100 points).
They earn points that later translate to airdrops of your token. You don’t pay anything upfront to acquire users (since you’re simply giving points now), and your users are hyped to engage because of the future financial gain.
This creates a snowball effect of hype and traction that makes your project grow exponentially and therefore allowing you to airdrop tokens that have financial value to your loyal first users without a problem.
- Onboarding Tour
Imagine a user logging in to your mini-app for the first time, there first reaction is going to be -
“WTF is this? How do I play? What does that button do? Where do I see my stats? What does that other button do?”
Confusion will lose you clients. An onboarding tour avoids all of that. When logging in for the first time we take them through a step by step controlled guide to explain every component within the app.
- Referral System
Nothing sparks virality more than word of mouth. By giving users the ability to not only easily create a referral link and share it to their network but also giving them a point system for it -
Crazy snowball effect for growth.
- Profile Enhancement
Data is $$$. The more information we have on users, the better we can serve them and target them on all channels.
It’s essential to create a profile dashboard where users can optionally connect their wallet, add their email, add their social media handles, and any other personal info that could be useful to you.
To supercharge this even further, give them points or other rewards for completing these optional data points.
Now, why don’t we do this right when they sign up to the mini-app, because we want to avoid unnecessary friction, once we have them onboarded, then we can request more info.
- Partner Rewards Dashboard
There are dozens of Telegram mini-apps out there with thousands of users. What if we could harness these individual communities and share our users.
That’s exactly we can be achieved with a partners dashboard. You can establish an agreement with other projects where on your app there will be a link to join their app and in turn the user earns a reward or discount. The same goes viceversa.
As your telegram mini-app grows, you can even charge $$$ for projects that want to be included in your partners dashboard. This is what GAMEE does.
- Gamified Experience
We need something to get them initially hooked, differentiate yourself from the competition. This is through some sort of gamified experience. Make it fun, make it addictive, and build curiosity.
We basically want them to take baby steps exploring the platform more and more until we are ready to direct them to what our real objective is (a sale, a download, a full sign up).
If you’re a gaming studio with a full-featured shooter game, offer a quick, one-player version in Telegram. Once they’re hooked, you direct them to the full version.
This concept doesn’t just work for games — it’s adaptable for any type of Web3 app. Whether it’s DeFi, Social, DAOs, or others you build that initial interest, and then push users to your full product.
- Leaderboards & Stats
It’s a no-brainer, but many projects forget to add it. Giving users real numbers on their performance and then allowing them to compare it to their friends or other players.
It instantly breeds competition, and has users hooked on playing until they are better then the next guy.
Show their playing time, their tasks completed, their referrals, their points, etc.
- Streaks
We want to give them a reason to go in and play every single day. This way we can continue to hook them in and get them more and more involved in the project & community.
The best way to do this is by incentivizing and gamifying, allowing users to gain rewards for streaks of consecutive days logging in, playing, completing a task, etc.
- Store
We don’t just want users accumulating points and feeling like these are infinite and not useful.
This is where a store comes in, allowing them to purchase in-app items like 24-hour boosts, special passes, automatic level-ups, etc.
Or we can allow them to purchase in-game items to increase their performance - better characters, weapons, vehicles, etc.
This also has another positive effect, it gives user a sense of uniqueness, they have their own combination of in-game items that they purchased and selected to use.
With all of this integrated, your Telegram mini-app now has the potential to SKYROCKET.
With that said, there are dozens of more features & functionalities that you can add, some that are even trending heavily now like Learn-To-Earn or Squads.
